TESVARA JIANG ’23
Tesvara Jiang ’23, Stanford ‘27 has never let an opportunity pass her by. During her time at Poly, she was a leader on the Robotics team, a star in STEM classes, and a generous and supportive classmate to those who needed extra help and support. Tes was also a fierce advocate for herself and her brother, a member of Poly’s class of 2026. And despite her packed schedule, she found time to let her artistic and entrepreneurial skills shine through her custom footwear company, Krato Creations.
Update (June 4, 2023)
The move to “Silicon Valley” in California’s Bay Area, hasn’t slowed Tes down; in addition to majoring in Computer Science and Economics at Stanford University, she is an undergraduate research fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, assisting on the project Distributional Consequences of Mortgage Market Design.
ELEKTRA URBATSCH ’23
Our strong athletics program has helped our students achieve their dreams of playing at the collegiate level, and our own Elektra Urbatsch ‘23, UCLA ‘27 was a member of this year’s NCAA Division I women’s water polo championship team at UCLA, where she is majoring in business economics. Elektra works her intellect like any muscle through hard work and discipline, joined the Poly volleyball team to keep her skills sharp for water polo, and owns two of our school records in swimming: the 50 and 100-yard freestyles. She grew tremendously as a student during her four years at Poly, and can attribute some of that growth to her involvement with our Neurodiverse Upper School Affinity Group, a place where other neurodiverse students can come together to share their experiences and how that impacts the way they see and interact with their school and wider community.
KYLE WILLIAMS ’23
Kyle brought wit, curiosity, and joy into every classroom he entered. He is truly a natural and fearless learner: unafraid to share ideas or ask questions, and happiest when he is pursuing new, independent paths to learning and understanding. During his time at Poly, Kyle exhausted our computer science curriculum, understanding the topics in such a deeply organic way that surpassed many of his peers. Poly has not only given him the knowledge base to achieve amazing things in the world of computer science, but also a community with whom to grow and empathize. Kyle, who hails from Brooklyn, now attends MIT.
